Go Play In LA began in the fall of 2010 when SoCal native Heather set an unofficial goal to take her toddler to as many different public playgrounds in Los Angeles County as she could find. Heather, along with her husband Mike and young daughter had recently moved to LA from out of state. Having relocated from a colder climate, they were eager to take advantage of being able to play outside in nice weather on a year round basis. Living in an apartment with a 2 year old and no yard was additional motivation to find free and safe public parks where their daughter could expend her energy.

As the search began to discover the area’s coolest playgrounds, the desire grew for a website that would provide helpful and kid related park details for LA County.
